Vertical crack in brickwork?
Using a crack gauge, it is easy to determine whether existing cracks in a home, commercial premises or structure are still active.
Structural cracks, such as those in brickwork, concrete or natural stone, can be easily monitored using one or more crack gauges.
We offer a very extensive range of crack gauges for indoor and outdoor use on flat walls and corners; we also supply and hire out digital crack gauges.
OUR METHODS
- URETEK DEEPINJECTION®
Reinforcing foundations in cases of subsidence – the URETEK DeepInjection® method has been specially developed for the repair of subsided foundations in homes, buildings and other structures founded on steel. Through targeted soil injections, a specially developed two-component expansion resin is applied directly beneath the subsided foundation. This mixed product expands with great force, compacting and reinforcing the soil.

Crack gauges are used to determine quickly and accurately whether existing cracks are ‘moving’. It is easy to establish the extent of the displacement and the direction in which it has occurred. The crack width can be measured using various types of gauges.
Crack gauges can be fitted across a crack, regardless of whether it occurs in brickwork, plasterwork or concrete, indoors or outdoors. The crack gauge can be secured with adhesive and/or screws. The best results are achieved by securing the crack gauge with both adhesive and a screw.
Warning: it is best not to place the crack gauges in direct sunlight, as this may cause the gauge to expand and the red ink to fade. The warranty against ink fading is 1 year.
- Option 1 is to cut into the red cross-wire using a sharp knife
- Option 2 is to measure the tear gauge using a calliper.
- Option 3 is to use measuring discs which can be measured with a calliper.
- Option 4 is to order the flexible tear gauge
